DR BUNSEN HONEYDEW AND THE THINGS I CAN'T BE...

If you haven't noticed, I spiffed up my blog a little. Maybe facebook is next on the horizon ! I just need LT or Candy to help me really make it my own now.
I will also stop SHOUTING, to honor many friendly requests. I was going to give it up for LENT, but I will start tonight. Damn correct typing !

Word of the day - Doberge - Doberge cake is a layered dessert originating in New Orleans, Louisiana. Still popular in the area, the cake is made of multiple thin layers of cake alternating with dessert pudding. Very often the cakes are made with half chocolate pudding and half lemon pudding. They are covered in a thin layer of butter cream and then a layer of fondant. They are normally made with six or more layers, but many amateurs make versions with fewer.
This is so yummy ! Although I didn't get one at Thanksgiving ! Thanks Mom.

Dr Bunsen Honeydew !


My mom recently had one of her old "suitors" visit if you will. It's been like 45 years, and she says he looks like Dr Bunsen Honeydew ! Being the wonderful person she is (aka woman), she told him that if she wasn't good enough then, then she wasn't good enough now. Poor fella asked her for some coffee, and she said H NO ! She also told him that he could only phone between 10 am and 10 pm. What does this genius do? Calls her at 9:57 am, but she doesn't keep track of time that closely (whatever). So he has 2 strikes before he even gets his name out. And she doesn't remember him. And when asked if he was married, he said it's over. She said that is not an appropriate answer. Either you is or you ain't ! Go mama. I should listen to you more often. Dr Bunsen Honeydew ! HA !
